Across the board, an increasing demand for quality has led to the SCAE (Speciality Coffee Association of Europe) developing a Gold Cup standard to increase the quality of filter coffee. The Gold Cup recognises excellence in brewed coffee, and it is awarded to companies whose filter coffee has an optimum balance of extraction and strength.
